Based
in Burlington, Vermont, and self-described as high performance
rock and roll, RAQ has seen its fair share of obstacles since
it's inception. Instead of allowing those to hinder their
determination to succeed in this business we call "music",
they have used those obstacles as lyrical ammunition giving
this band their unique sound featuring complex song structures
coupled with quirky yet accessible lyrics and a healthy dose
of full-band improvisation. Each live performance is a free
form, unplanned adventure, using the composed songs as a launching
pad to take the band and their fans into uncharted musical
territory. Chris Michetti's intricate guitar playing yields
a cascading stream of notes, while Todd Stoops provides uncompromising
rhythm and texture on keys, Jay Burwick holds the low end
down with his rock solid bass grooves, and Greg Stukey, the
back bone of the rhythm section, plays with an almost scientific
precision. RAQ's high level of technical skill, well-written
songs, and a seemingly telepathic connection between each
other, sensationalizes the indescribable magic that sets them
apart from the rest.
RAQ
will be taking off from the big stage around 10 pm Saturday
night, and may not land until the wee hours of the following
morning! |
Taboot:
A Tribute to Phish (website)
Performing
the epic songs and jams of Phish. Playing the sets you would
have loved to hear! No need to jones for that summer Phish
festival in Maine. We've got one planned right here. Taboot
is a group of highly experienced musicians (Pete Dennesen,
Sean Kelleher, Peter Morrelli and Mark Jalbert). They infuse
the improv sections with their own developed styles and accurately
reproduce Phish's most intricate tunes taboot. We're looking
forward to another appearance by these guys who have managed
to get better and better with each passing gig. |

Ol'
Brown Shoe: (website)
Throwin'
it down since 1999, Ol' Brown Shoe has been
playing their brand of groove music to appreciative audiences
all over New England. They cover a variety of blues/funk/jamband
music, and put their own spin on it. The dual guitar
interplay over the solid rhythm section creates a fun danceable
vibe sure to get you moving. We're stoked to have these
guys back on the Stonewall. |
|
Publius:
(website)
Publius
is a five piece, Elliot Smith, Radiohead & Pink Floyd
influenced band, with retro psychedelic overtones, classic
moog synths & other exotic gear. The deeply emotional
playing of Publius brings the listener along with it. These
guys will take off from the electric stage. |
| Zubru:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, 3 Ply will not be
playing this years festival. However, 2 of the original members
of 3 Ply, Slopey and Duane, will be bringing their Zubru band
to the big stage. They will be kicking things off on the big
stage around 4pm. If you liked 3 Ply last year, your sure
to dig what Zubru's got in store.

BillyBilly:
(website)
If
you made it up for last years Reception, you'll remember Bryan
Litchfield & Chris Clark. They brought their heartfelt
renditions of some classic rock and blues tunes to the acoustic
stage. Twice! Well this year they've picked up a rhythm section!
With a drum kit and a bass player we're expecting some full
on sonic assault by the new BillyBillyBand. BRING IT ON! These
guys are set to close out the entertainment on the acoustic
stage. |
The
Newcomer Revue:
After
many years of playing drums with Ol' Brown Shoe and bass with
Funk Yard Dogz, John plans to change it up this year by dusting
off his acoustic guitar for some tunes from Jerry Garcia and
David Grisman. Joining him will be the very talented Matt Laurence
on the mandolin and musical virtuoso Chris Jamison on the violin.
Matt is the bassist and vocalist for the band Secret
Service as well as an accomplished musician on the concertina.
Chris is the guitarist and vocalist for King
Of Clubs as well as a violinist for an irish quartet. We're
excited to see this trio on the acoustic stage. |
| CANCELED
Fatslope:
Because
of a necessary change in the schedule, Fatslope will not be
playing Stonewall II. You can still catch the members of Fatslope
on the electric stage Friday night as C.O.S. n FX. |
Slimjam: Slimjam
is an act consisting of Jim Corcoran (hand-drums/percussion)
and Dan McQueen (acoustic guitar/vocals). These two
musicians are members of the band Mocean8 (currently on indefinite
hiatus). Jim and Dan have been workin' on getting back
into the music scene and will be making their first official
performance as Slimjam on the acoustic stage at Stonewall
II. The sound that best describes them is a mix between
(acoustic) Dave Matthews and Joe Cocker with instrumental
stylings similar to those of Rusted Root. They'll be
playin' a couple of covers, some originals and a few improv
jams may be expected. Should be a tasty treat for all
to enjoy :)

C.O.S.
n FX:
C.O.S.
n FX consist of Conner Mulroy, Greg Ogan, and Slopey. These
talented musicians thrive on improv, and groove. The set up
consists of a mandolin, a bass guitar, drums, and full array
of effects. They play a mix of jazz & rock covers, originals,
and full out jams. These guys have only done private sessions
with a handful of witnesses and look forward to sharing this
experience with the early arrivals to Stonewall II. The group
will be playing Friday night from the time they start until
the time they stop. So start your weekend off right and get
up here in time to see C.O.S. n FX
Note:
If the stars are aligned just right Steve Brandi, a well known
musician on the North Shore, may be joining C.O.S n FX at
some point in the evening. More info on Steve can be found
at www.stevebrandi.com |
